A talk for all economists, historians, and deep thinkers.
We are delighted to invite you all to our first online lecture of 2025 this Wednesday 22nd January at 18:30, given by Dr Linda Yueh, where she will be discussing 10 historic financial meltdowns, how financial crashes can be spotted, and how their effects can be moderated.
🌟 What will the talk be about? From the Wall Street Crash of 1929 to the COVID Pandemic, and everything in between, Professor Yueh will be analysing economic crises of the past to help build a framework for identifying early signs of future crashes and how best to manage their impacts.
She has recently published a book on the topic: “The Great Crashes: Lessons from Global Meltdowns and How to Prevent Them”, which has been named as one of The Best New Books in Economics by the Financial Times.
🌟 Who is Linda Yueh? Dr Linda Yueh is a Fellow in Economics at St Edmunds Hall, Oxford. She has been a presenter for both the BBC and Bloomberg, being the Chief Business Correspondent for the BBC. 🌟 How can I attend? This speaker event will be held ONLINE via Zoom, so everyone is welcome! You can join the lecture by clicking this link at the specified time - no sign up required!
